Gait Belt

When tranferring ambulatory patients with weaknesses there is always a risk of a fall. The gait belt allows the carer to assist without hindering the patient and also helps prevent the sudden falls which can injure both patient and carer.

Where is the Gait Belt Used?

The gait belt is used when transferrring a patient who has mobility issues.  In many cases it is used to help transfer a patient from a bed to a wheelchair or assisting when sitting a patient up in bed.

It should be fitted by the caregiver before moving the patient.
